Rated Number 1 Restaurant in the area on Tripadviser

Had a meal in here over the weekend with some friends. The food was gorgeous. Have eaten here quite a few times for carvey (which is good too) but the restaurant at night beats it hands down. Service was very good. Staff very friendly
I’ve been here several times and I’ve always had a great experience. My most recent visit was for a friend’s birthday. I had the brie for starter and the prawn stir-fry for main. The stir-fry came with a generous portion of good-sized prawns. You will not leave the Fiddler’s hungry, that’s for sure. The staff were great and they even took a photograph which was then printed out for us before we left. That was a really nice touch in my opinion. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for its value, service and quality of the food
Stopped in 3 times during our visit. The staff was great and personable, making us want to come back again. Food and drink were delicious and enjoyable after days of traveling. Definitely recommend to anyone outside of town looking for a good bite and a quick drink!

Good food, sound staff, good Craic, right in the centre of town, staff very friendly, music was interesting and v good standard, one of the staff on piano I think! Plenty of room. Very reasonably prices to boot. It’s all good!!

We live locally and eat here occasionally but felt the need to write a review this time due to the little extras and fantastic customer service we received. On booking we were asked if it was a special occasion, and we advised it was out anniversary. This was noted and we were wished happy anniversary on arrival. The manager (Karl I think) and waitress Una were very friendly and attentive. Although the place was very busy being Christmas, the food was sent out in a timely fashion and was hot and cooked perfectly. You really get a sense that all is prepared freshly, nothing frozen. We had caesar salads to start which were gorgeous but huge! They had chicken, bacon and sundried tomato so were very substantial. For mains I went for Hake which was done very well and the duck dish my partner had was presented really nicely. We were then given dessert (a lovely Christmas pudding) on decorated plates with Happy Anniversary on them and the waitress took a photo of us which she printed out and gave us as a souvenir. Including 4 beers, the bill came to 80 euro which was amazing value. Keep up the good work!

Great place to stop off with delicious food

Whilst on the long drive home from Dublin to Donegal, we were looking for somewhere good to eat after a long day.

The Fiddlers was well recommended and it lived up to the reviews. Tasty food, generous portions and excellent service.

Many places would be wise to visit here to understand what they should be serving to their customers.

If you’re passing, pop in, you won’t regret it!

Great Place, Great Staff

Had a few hours in Carrickmacross, and was looking for a lite lunch. Staff was very helpful, as we only wanted a sandwich and salads. They offered to make us any salad or sandwich we wanted. Price was cheap, food was great, service was excellent.
